Steam Resistant Rubber

Steam Resistant Silicone Rubber

One of the applications where rubber seals or tubes are often required is where steam is present, often at high temperatures and pressures. Most rubbers do not cope well with Steam and degrade quickly, Silicone Rubber is no exception.

Steam Resistant Silicone Rubber has been specifically developed with resistance to steam and will last considerably longer and perform better than other grades of Silicone Rubber.

Adpol manufactures extrusions, mouldings, gaskets, seals and punched parts from a specialist steam resistant compound. We are able to vary the hardness and colour to suit your specific needs.

A new extrusion die and sample can cost as little as £175.00 and take from 2 weeks with order volumes from 20 – 20,000 metres being catered for thereafter.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for a quote or to discuss your technical requirements. We are a family run business passionate about looking after our customers and building solid long lasting relationships.

IP Rated Rubber Seals

IP Rated Rubber Seals

Adpol works with designers and engineers to develop and manufacture IP Rated seals as unique each application we come across even for the harshest of environments.

Often working with the unit that needs a seal from past experience and many samples we can quickly establish the best profile to use, and then with some subtle tweaks to size and rubber hardness (and indeed other properties) the desired result can be achieved.

Seals produced by Adpol have helped many leading manufacturers achieve the IP rating they require. With custom blends these seals can also be food and medical grade, anti static, chemical, fuel and steam resistant, able to withstand -100 to + 300 degrees C, flame retardant, and extremely high tear strength.

Laboratory Tubing

Laboratory Grade Rubber Tubing

Laboratory tubing can be manufactured in many different materials, Silicone Rubber being one of the most popular. The specific grade and hardness selected will be driven by what the tube is doing, and what it is transporting.

Common applications are waste disposal of product, in which case a general purpose silicone with Medical/food and drink certification would do. Anything else largely depends on what the tube needs to transport, and advice from compatibility tables should be sought to ensure the most suitable material is selected.

Viton or Fluorosilicone would be required where chemical resistance is needed, where steam is present a steam resistant grade of silicone should be sought, and if temperatures fall outside of -40 to + 160 degrees C specialist grades should be used.

Tubing can be used in fluid transfer or Peristaltic Pump activity. Whatever the need Adpol has the capability and expertise to help you find a solution, often manufactured in house.

Rubber Coated Sponge

Rubber Coated Sponge Extrusions

Adpol has developed a new manufacturing technique which allows us to extrude a thin skin of Silicone Rubber over sponge.

This allows many of the specialist performances properties of Silicone to be combined with the soft compressible nature of Sponge which can be hugely beneficial when you need the compressibility of sponge and the resistance of specialist Silicone grades for certain applications.

For example, Chemically Resistant Fluorosilicone, Conductive Carbon loaded Silicone, Steam resistant Silicone, Metal Detectable Food Grade Silicone, Extreme high or low temperature Silicone and anti bacterial Silicone.

Imagine an extrusion with these properties, that can be cut and joined into O Ring or picture frame gaskets, and give the compressibility, flexibility and weight saving of sponge. Well we can now help you with this.

Please contact us to discuss your requirements, we are here and very happy to assist.
